Congratulations on your admission to Webster University!  We look forward to welcoming you to our campus community!

On this page we have outlined important next steps and helpful campus connections to help you prepare for a successful transition to Webster. Remember to reach out if you have any questions along the way!


  1. Let us know you plan to be a Gorlok! Confirm your attendance by logging into your applicant portal to complete the decision response form and pay the $100 enrollment deposit. 
  2. Activate your Connections and student email accounts. 
  3. Complete the financial aid process.
  4. Complete your on-campus housing application to join our residential campus. Or check out our commuter resources.
  5. Meet with an advisor and get registered for classes.
  6. Participate in New Student Orientation
  7. Remember to submit your final transcripts. 

Connections & Office 365 Account

  • Once accepted, you will receive access to the Webster Connections and financial aid portal. Please look for an account activation email from Webster University Information Technology sent to the personal email address used on your admission application approximately 48 hours after acceptance. (For certain email providers, these may get funneled to a junk/spam folder.)  If you have questions or did not receive this information, contact the IT Service Desk at 314-246-5995.  (You will need your student ID number and should indicate that you are a new student to the university; if you don't have it, contact admissions at 314-246-7800).
  • Once you have confirmed your acceptance, you will gain additional access to University systems, including the Webster housing application, your Webster email and Office 365 accounts, Student Academic Services, and the online orientation platform. (Please allow up to 48 hours after confirmation to gain access to these additional services/platforms). 
  • Upon enrollment, you will gain full access to the various University systems and platforms that you will utilize throughout your time as a Webster student.
  • Official communication from the University for many offices, including billing information, is conducted through your student email and/or Connections account, so please activate and check often.
  • An overview of all student technology (including Connections, Student Success Portal, Office 365, WorldClassRoom, Adobe Creative Cloud), including some video tutorials, is available here.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

  • Be sure to file the FAFSA for the appropriate academic year to be considered for need-based financial aid. Webster's school code is 002521.
  • Complete the Webster financial aid application. A financial aid offer will be available once all requested documents have been received.
  • It is highly recommended to submit financial aid applications prior to February 1 for the upcoming academic year. If you are transferring in the spring and unable to meet the February 1 priority date complete all applications no later than December 1.
  • Be sure to apply for any additional transfer scholarships for which you are qualified. 
  • Remember if anything changes with enrollment or housing circumstances, your aid may be subject to change. Discuss with your financial aid counselor.
  • Be sure to check with the Financial Aid Office if you have any questions or concerns about your financial aid status.

Housing & Residential Life

  • There are many on-campus housing options available to transfer students. If you are interested in living on campus, we encourage you to apply early because space is limited. The housing application for the next academic year is usually available in late November. If you are interested in on-campus housing as a new transfer student for the spring semester, the application is usually available in early October.
  • Log-in for the housing application utilizes your Webster Connections username and password. You will gain access to the housing application upon confirming your University acceptance.  If you have been admitted and have confirmed but are unable to log-in please contact the Office of Admission at 314-246-7800 or the Housing & Residential Life Office at 314-246-4663.
  • If you will be commuting to campus, be sure to check out the commuter resources.

Academic Advising & Registration

  • You will meet with an academic advisor when registering for your first semester of classes. Request a virtual new student advising appointment and complete the digital pre-advising workshop before the scheduled appointment.  Get all the details at www.webster.edu/registration.
  • If you are pursuing a degree in Education or Nursing you will be advised and register directly through the department. If majoring in Education or Educational Studies, contact Sheila Jordan at 314-246-6946.  Nursing students should contact Jody Spiess at 314-246-7483.
  • Upcoming registration dates are published in the academic calendar for each term or semester. Transfer registration for fall typically begins in mid-April and transfer registration for spring in mid-November.

New Student Orientation

 

Final Transcripts & Transfer Credit

  • If you were provisionally accepted to Webster based on unofficial transcripts or transcripts that reflected coursework still in progress, send your final official transcripts to the Office of Admission prior to the first day of classes at Webster. 
  • If you are expecting to finish an associate degree, please ensure your final official transcript reflects the degree, and note this on your transcript request to your previous school.  Also be sure you have taken the necessary steps to petition for graduation at your current school. Reach out to your advisor or the Registrar's office at your college if unclear on that process. 
  • Keep in mind that a preliminary evaluation of your transfer credit is conducted by the Registrar's office and communicated to you by that office after you have been admitted to the University and after official transcripts have been received.  This preliminary evaluation is sent to the email address indicated on your admission application and to your Webster University email.
  • Transfer credits are formally moved from the preliminary evaluation to your academic record a week prior to the start of the semester/term. *Degree audits are assigned after the last day to drop for your first term. At that time, your degree audit will be available for you in your Webster Connections account. We recommend discussing with your advisor to continue your academic planning. 
    *Please note that until this occurs, your status may be listed as a First-time Freshman; this will be updated to reflect your class standing (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior) based on incoming transfer credits.
